Usage Frequency of Fasteners
The usage frequency of fasteners depends on their types and usage conditions. Here are some common types of fasteners and their recommended usage frequencies:
Bolts without yielding during tightening:
These bolts are in the linear stage and can basically return to their original state after unloading. It is recommended that the number of reuses should not exceed 3 to 5 times.
Self-locking nuts: The anti-loosening characteristics of self-locking nuts will decrease with the increase of the number of reuses. It is recommended that the number of uses should not exceed 5 times. Fasteners coated with microencapsulated chemical adhesive:
This type of fastener can only be used once. For rework and repeated tightening, brand new glued fasteners need to be replaced.
Fasteners coated with nylon physical adhesive:
It is recommended that the number of uses should not exceed 3 times. Internal threaded holes and nut plates:
The number of reuses of these components should not exceed 10 times.
